Selecting the Right Ultrasound System for Urology

Urologists scan patients for many different reasons. Providing quality care to the patients is their goal, and ultrasound is a cost-effective and non-invasive way to achieve this. A versatile ultrasound is essential for diagnosing issues from kidney stones to testicular cancer. It is so effective not only as a powerful diagnostic tool but also in the fact that it can be transferred from room to room or clinic to clinic to perform diagnostic imaging. Ultrasound scans no longer require clinicians to move patients around within their offices or send them to another location. Point-of-care ultrasound makes patients more comfortable and speeds up diagnosing medical issues.   Urology examinations can be performed with a variety of point-of-care ultrasound machines. Basics Of The C-Arm Machine

A C-arm system is a x-ray image intensifier that provides real-time viewing of anatomic structures using fluoroscopic dyes. The device is an non-invasive that is it does not enter the patient’s body, making it safe for screening before, during, and after procedures.   These machines are mobile,  and can be used in confined spaces. The unit’s support structure is shaped like the letter “C”, and it can be adjusted to different settings based on the application. This special arched semi-circular design also allows the physician to rotate and angle an x-ray tube without moving the patient. Furthermore, combining the C-arm system with a moveable C-arm table allows the physician to “tilt” the patient while rotating the C-arm system, further optimizing the viewing angle. This flexibility allows physicians to quickly view and monitor the placement of devices like pacemakers, catheters and prostheses. Outpatient Studies C-arm system imaging is used for studies, like the digestiv...
